Role Overview: The school is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to join its dedicated team. The successful candidate will lead the provision for students with additional needs, ensuring the school’s approach to inclusion reflects best practice and supports each student’s academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the provision of Special Educational Needs (SEN) across the school.
Identify, assess, and monitor students with additional needs and ensure the implementation of appropriate support plans.
Collaborate with teachers, learning assistants, and leadership to deliver inclusive teaching practices.
Liaise with parents, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective support for students.
Provide training, coaching, and support to teaching staff to enhance their skills in differentiation and inclusive education.
Maintain thorough and up-to-date records, including Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and progress tracking.
Contribute to whole-school development planning and strategic inclusion initiatives.
Requirements:
Recognised SENCO qualification or equivalent (mandatory).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
Proven experience working as a SENCO or in a SEN leadership role, preferably within a British or international school setting.
In-depth knowledge of a range of SEN needs, strategies for support, and inclusion best practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
A child-centred approach and a commitment to upholding the school’s inclusive ethos.
