Role Overview
The Founding Principal will be instrumental in establishing and leading the new school, overseeing everything from staff recruitment to curriculum implementation. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive academic excellence, build strong community relationships, and ensure a successful launch in August 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Opening Phase (March – August 2025)
Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the school group’s leadership to establish a vision, mission, and academic framework for the new school.
Staff Recruitment: Lead the hiring process for teachers, administrators, and support staff, ensuring all hires align with the school’s academic and cultural expectations.
Curriculum Development: Oversee the development and implementation of the American curriculum, ensuring alignment with Common Core, NGSS, and best practices.
Marketing & Admissions: Act as a spokesperson and ambassador for the school, engaging with parents, stakeholders, and the wider Dubai community to drive student enrollment.
Facilities & Operational Readiness: Work with the operations and facilities team to ensure the campus, classrooms, and technology infrastructure are ready for the school’s opening.
Post-Opening Phase (August 2025 onwards)
Academic Excellence: Lead a high-performing school, ensuring students achieve top academic results and receive a world-class American education.
Teacher Development: Implement professional development programs to foster a culture of continuous improvement among staff.
Student-Centered Learning: Ensure a holistic, inclusive, and engaging educational environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
Parental & Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, fostering an open and collaborative school culture.
Operational & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with KHDA regulations and American accreditation bodies (e.g., Cognia, WASC).
Data-Driven School Improvement: Utilize data analytics, performance tracking, and assessment insights to drive continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Candidates must be American-trained and experienced in an accredited American curriculum school.
Bachelors/Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years of leadership experience as a Principal, Head of School, or Senior Leader in an American curriculum school.
Experience in school startups, accreditation processes (Cognia, WASC), and teacher recruitment is preferred.
Proven track record of driving student achievement, fostering school growth, and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
Skills & Attributes:

Deep knowledge of Common Core, NGSS, and American educational frameworks.
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
