The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and visionary Head of Design to join this leading IB school in Dubai. The successful candidate will oversee the strategic and operational management of the Design department, ensuring the delivery of an engaging, rigorous, and innovative curriculum aligned with IB standards.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students, collaborate with a talented team of educators, and contribute to the school’s mission of preparing learners for the challenges of the 21st century.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the IB MYP and DP Design curriculum.
Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and critical thinking within the department.
Mentor and support a team of Design educators, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
Develop and oversee engaging projects that integrate real-world problem-solving and cutting-edge technology.
Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment practices in line with IB expectations.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align department goals with the school’s strategic vision.
Manage departmental resources, including budgets, equipment, and facilities.
Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a positive learning environment.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Design, Industrial Design, Technology, or a related field
Teaching qualification, such as PGCE or equivalent.
Proven track record of innovation and success in delivering the subject.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
Commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, creativity, and lifelong learning.
Familiarity with emerging design technologies and trends.
